About
About SnakeTattoos
SnakeTattoos exists because most snake-tattoo sites are bad at the one job that matters: helping you move from a vague feeling to a clear, original concept you can take to an artist.
What we are
A visual-first discovery and planning platform for snake tattoos. A structured design library you can filter instead of scroll. Style, placement and species guides written to be genuinely useful. A concept builder that turns your choices into a one-page artist brief. And honest symbolism that labels its sources instead of inventing them.
What we are not
Not a listicle farm. Not a place to screenshot a stranger’s tattoo and copy it line-for-line. Not a marketplace that quietly sells “best artist” rankings.
Imagery, honestly labeled
Every concept image on this site is either original SnakeTattoos artwork (the framed line-art plates) or AI-generated concept art (the photography), and each one is labeled as such. These images illustrate a direction — they are not tattoo-ready artwork, and they are never presented as a real person’s real tattoo. We don’t scrape or repost artists’ portfolio photos; where third-party work is referenced, we link out to the artist instead of copying the image.
Symbolism, honestly sourced
Where a meaning comes from a specific culture or religious tradition — the Egyptian uraeus, the Hindu naga, the Japanese hebi — we say so and give context. Where it’s a modern tattoo-culture reading, we label it as modern. We’d rather tell you “this meaning is contested” than hand you a fake ancient origin. If you spot an error, tell us.
Respect for artists
Tattoo artists are the reason any of this works. We encourage inspiration, reference gathering and collaboration with professionals — never copying another artist’s original piece. The whole point of this site is to help you arrive at something that is yours, then hand the making of it to someone who deserves the work.
Health information
Our safety and aftercare guides reflect widely published public-health and dermatology guidance. They are general information, not medical advice, and they never override your artist’s or a healthcare professional’s instructions.
