Finding your artist

The right artist matters more than the right reference photo. A snake specialist will improve your idea instead of just agreeing with it. Here’s how to find one — and how this site handles artist listings.

How to find a snake-specialist artist

  1. 01 Start on Instagram and Pinterest with searches like “snake tattoo” plus your style — fine line snake, traditional snake, Japanese hebi.
  2. 02 Look for artists who post snakes repeatedly, not once. Repetition is expertise.
  3. 03 Check for healed photos — work that is months or years old, not just fresh and wet.
  4. 04 Read their books/booking info, then send your concept brief (the builder makes one for you).
  5. 05 Walk away if the studio fails the hygiene checks in our safety guide.

How listings will work here

We’re building toward a proper artist directory — style tags, location filters, portfolio links and “last verified” dates. Two commitments we’ll never break: paid listings will always be disclosed, and no artist will be described as “best” without a transparent basis. Nobody gets endorsed for money, and we’ll never imply an artist is vetted when they aren’t.
